The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has initiated special train services to address an overflow of passengers following recent IndiGo flight disruptions. The chief spokesperson confirmed the decision on Sunday.

NFR's Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, the chief public relations officer, announced that extra coaches were added to existing trains to manage the increased demand. Two new special trains are slated to operate on Monday, one from Dibrugarh to New Delhi and another from Guwahati to Howrah.

In response to flight cancellations, which have primarily impacted Indigo due to substantial crew shortages, the railway is also attaching 20 additional coaches to 18 different trains across various routes. Besides, the Sairang-Guwahati Express has received extra coaches, and special services are planned for Dimapur-Sairang later in the week.
