A horrific accident took place on Friday morning in Andhra Pradesh's Alluri Sitaramaraju district, claiming nine lives and injuring 23 others after a bus fell off a ghat road and overturned.
The bus, en route to Telangana, was carrying 37 individuals, including the driver and cleaner. Heavy fog is believed to have obscured the driver's vision, preventing him from seeing a crucial turn. The vehicle, carrying Araku tourists headed to Bhadrachalam, tumbled near the Durga temple on the Chintoor-Maredumilli road.
Superintendent of Police Amit Bardar stated that the accident occurred around 4:30 AM, noting that four passengers remain critically injured. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed his condolences and has coordinated with officials to ensure proper care for those injured.
