To achieve this, they are seeking an expert consultancy firm to prepare a comprehensive technical and financial feasibility report for the proposed airport locations.
Infrastructure Development Minister M B Patil stated that tenders for consultancy services have been invited, with a submission deadline of January 12, 2026. The state has identified potential sites at Choodahalli, Somanahalli, and near Nelamangala, with preliminary inspections conducted by the Airports Authority of India.
The selected consultancy will assess various factors, including infrastructure requirements, environmental impacts, and economic viability. The firm will also provide a recommendation on the most suitable site for the new airport based on their findings. This proactive move aims to meet future aviation demand by 2033, ensuring continuous growth in the region's connectivity and development.
