IRCTC's New System Reduces Fake User IDs Drastically

The Indian Railways' initiative to introduce a stringent user identity verification system on the IRCTC website has significantly reduced the number of new user IDs created daily from one lakh to just 5,000. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that this effort has effectively clamped down on ticket booking through fake IDs, leading to the deactivation of over 3.03 crore fake accounts.
Additionally, approximately 2.7 crore IDs have been earmarked for suspension due to suspicious activity. The minister has instructed officials to ensure that the ticketing system allows travelers to book tickets seamlessly with genuine user IDs, further enhancing the efficiency and reliability of ticket bookings.
In a separate move, the Railway Minister has directed that local cuisines reflecting regional cultures should be served on Vande Bharat trains, enhancing passenger experience. This culinary initiative is anticipated to be expanded to other trains in the near future.
