At least 25 people lost their lives and 59 were injured in Uttar Pradesh following a series of road accidents attributed to heavy fog, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
The most devastating incident unfolded on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura, where a multi-vehicle crash led to an intense inferno, claiming 13 lives. President Droupadi Murmu expressed condolences over the tragic consequences of the dense fog event.
A probe led by Additional District Magistrate Amresh Kumar will investigate the incident, while state authorities announced compensation for those affected. Motorists are urged to exercise caution as foggy conditions persist.
