In a bid to enhance connectivity and regional tourism, Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has called for the accelerated construction of a strategic two-lane highway linking Chongkham to Brahmakund. This development crucially aimed at improving travel conditions and unlocking economic opportunities in the region.
Meeting with National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL)'s Executive Director Ashish Gupta, Mein stressed the highway's significance in boosting trade, tourism, and local business, emphasizing the need for prompt action to complete this vital infrastructure.
The Chongkham-Brahmakund highway, part of a broader Rs 44,000-crore national highway expansion, spans 61.15 km across the districts of Namsai, Lohit, and Anjaw, with a budget of approximately Rs 915 crore. Officials are committed to fast-tracking construction to ensure improved access and economic activity in northeastern India.
