Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, unveiled a Rs 15,800 crore investment plan aimed at enhancing energy, education, and healthcare infrastructure in West Bengal. Speaking at the Business and Industry Conclave 2025, he applauded Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's decisive leadership in fostering rapid investments.

The centerpiece of Goenka's proposal is an ambitious 5,000 megawatt-hours energy storage project, costing Rs 12,000 crore, which is expected to be one of India's first major storage facilities. Goenka highlighted the project's potential to provide Kolkata with 50% renewable energy, potentially a national benchmark.

Aside from energy, the group is channeling Rs 1,000 crore into social infrastructure, focusing on expanding education and healthcare sectors. A new state-of-the-art hospital, scheduled for completion by January 2027, promises to raise healthcare standards. Goenka attributes the group's expansive vision to the swift and insightful leadership in West Bengal.
