Tragedy struck in Jharkhand's Latehar district as the death toll from a devastating bus accident rose to 10, according to officials. The incident occurred when a bus carrying wedding guests overturned, initially claiming nine lives.

Over 80 people sustained injuries, with more than 70 currently undergoing treatment in various state hospitals. The mishap, reportedly due to brake failure, took place in the Orsa Bangladara valley under Mahuadanr police station limits.

The vehicle was en route from Chhattisgarh's Balrampur district to a wedding in Mahuadanr, Latehar. Driver Vikas Pathak recounted his futile efforts to regain control, citing brake failure as the cause. Officials have sent 32 critically injured patients to RIMS Ranchi for advanced care, while Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has directed local authorities to ensure adequate medical facilities for the victims.
