Vedanta's Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL) reported an impressive increase in consolidated net profit by 46.2% to Rs 3,916 crore for the fiscal quarter ending December 31, 2025. This growth was fueled by burgeoning commodity prices, bolstered production, and a favorable exchange rate. In comparison, the previous year's profit stood at Rs 2,678 crore.
For the October-December period, HZL's consolidated income soared to Rs 11,273 crore from Rs 8,832 crore, marking a robust growth period for the firm. The company's Chief Executive Officer, Arun Misra, attributed this to record third-quarter metal production and the five-year lowest zinc production cost of USD 940 per tonne.
Chief Financial Officer Sandeep Modi highlighted the firm's fortified financial performance across nine months, with a remarkable sequential profit increase of 48% to a record Rs 3,916 crore, underscoring the positive impact of their precious metals portfolio. As one of the leading zinc producers, HZL has shown strong strategic positioning for future growth.
