An early morning explosion at the Real Ispat and Power Ltd in Bakulahi village, Chhattisgarh, resulted in the death of six workers and injuries to five more when hot ash engulfed them.

Local authorities reported that the explosion occurred in a dust settling chamber (DSC) linked to a kiln, releasing heated ash onto the workers. District collector Deepak Soni confirmed the casualties and injuries while mourning the charred remains of the victims, most of whom were from Bihar and Jharkhand.

Efforts are ongoing to rescue and identify all workers present during the shift, with the support of state authorities who have vowed comprehensive investigations and aid for the bereaved families.
