Andhra Pradesh Secures Historic Rail Project Funding in 2026-27 Budget
In the Union Budget for fiscal 2026-27, Andhra Pradesh has been allocated over Rs 10,000 crore for railway projects. With Rs 93,649 crore of infrastructural projects ongoing in the state, the railway network is fully electrified. Two high-speed rail corridors will also pass through Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh has been granted an unprecedented allocation of more than Rs 10,000 crore for railway projects in the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, according to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Currently, the state is seeing infrastructural developments valued at Rs 93,649 crore. A noteworthy achievement is the complete electrification of Andhra Pradesh's railway network, which underscores significant advancements in the state's railway infrastructure.
The recent budget announcement also introduced seven high-speed rail corridors nationwide, with two of these routes, Hyderabad - Bengaluru and Hyderabad - Chennai, traversing through Andhra Pradesh.
