LeafyBus, a long-distance electric bus operator, announced its collaboration with Eicher Trucks & Buses to roll out 100 electric sleeper buses on nationwide routes. This initiative is part of LeafyBus's strategy to transition long-distance travel from diesel to clean electric energy.
The initial deployment will include 35 Skyline Pro E 13.5-meter buses by March 31, enabled by Enetra EV Private Limited. The focus is on expanding routes like Delhi-Dehradun and Delhi-Lucknow, along with several emerging high-demand routes over the next 18 months.
With a USD 4.1 million investment from Enetra India Pvt. Ltd., LeafyBus plans to grow its fleet and infrastructure, aiming to introduce at least one new electric vehicle travel corridor monthly. This effort supports India's movement towards sustainable, environmentally friendly intercity transport.
