Fuel Control Switch Flaw Grounds Air India Boeing 787 at Heathrow

The UK's Civil Aviation Authority is requesting information from Air India regarding an incident with a Boeing 787-8 at London's Heathrow. The plane reportedly experienced a fuel control switch issue before flying to Bengaluru.

According to sources, a pilot raised the alarm on February 2 after landing in Bengaluru with the issue persisting. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) found that proper procedures weren't followed, prompting Air India to conduct precautionary checks on all its Boeing 787s, which revealed no further problems.

Following last June's tragic crash linked to fuel supply issues, the UK's aviation body is keen to understand if the plane should have been grounded earlier. An Air India official assured compliance and cooperation in response to the authorities' requests.
