A potential disaster was averted as railway personnel detected smoke from the Howrah–Rourkela Vande Bharat Express near Tunia station, Jharkhand. The prompt action avoided a major accident.
Aditya Kumar Choudhary, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager at Chakradharpur division, reported that the smoke stemmed from a hot axle. The train was halted at Tunia for a thorough inspection.
In light of the imminent risk, Vande Bharat's journey was halted. Approximately 250 passengers were shifted to the Howrah–Pune Duronto Express, ensuring their safe travel to Rourkela, the upcoming scheduled stop.
