Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated the six-lane Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu on the Brahmaputra River in Assam on Saturday. This significant infrastructure project, costing Rs 3,030 crore, connects Guwahati with North Guwahati.
The bridge, the first extradosed Prestressed Concrete (PSC) structure in the Northeast, marks a key development in regional connectivity.
At the inauguration ceremony, Modi, accompanied by Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, took a walk on the newly opened bridge, symbolizing a new era for the area's transportation infrastructure.
