Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal declared a new era of peace and prosperity in the Northeast under the BJP-led government on Wednesday. Speaking at an election rally in Gogamukh, Dhemaji, Sonowal emphasized the contrast with the previous Congress rule characterized by violence and instability.
Sonowal attributed the region's transformation to historic agreements like the Bodo Peace Accord, which have reintegrated youth into mainstream society. He accused former Congress regimes of compromising Assam's identity and security, while asserting that the current government has taken decisive steps to protect cultural and civilizational heritage.
With notable investments exceeding Rs 5 lakh crore and significant improvements in connectivity, Sonowal underscored the state's economic advancements over the last decade. He appealed for a renewed mandate to ensure continued peace and development.
