Strikes Ground Flights at Nairobi's Main Airport

Tuesday marked the second day of a strike by air traffic controllers at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, causing widespread chaos for passengers. Long delays resulted, leaving many travelers uncertain if their departure would proceed as planned.

Significant interruptions in flights were reported, with airlines such as Kenya Airways experiencing up to four-hour delays, while Uganda Airlines faced flight cancellations. The strike escalated as the Kenya Aviation Workers Union voiced dissatisfaction over unresolved collective bargaining and employment terms.

The transport minister has called for discussions between the union and aviation authority to find a resolution. However, passengers continue to face travel turmoil, hoping for a quick resolution to the standoff.
