Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary, MeitY, and CEO of ISM, shared these insights in an exclusive interview with ANI, detailing the mission's roadmap.
Sinha highlighted that advancing the semiconductor ecosystem is crucial, alongside cultivating specialized talent crucial for the industry's value chain. He underscored the importance of market expansion for Indian semiconductor firms to achieve competitiveness and economies of scale.
While recognizing capital challenges in this investment-heavy industry, Sinha noted the government's proactive role in providing incentives and funding. Concurrent support from state policies and efforts to attract venture capital are expected to reinforce R&D and tech startups under ISM 2.0.
