Kansas City Airport Reopens After Security Scare

Kansas City International Airport temporarily closed due to a security threat investigation. Authorities have since cleared the threat, and normal operations have resumed. The evacuation affected parts of the airport with collaboration between airport police and the FBI. The airport services nearly 1 million monthly passengers.

Kansas City International Airport resumed operations Sunday afternoon following a brief closure prompted by a potential security threat, as announced by the airport and federal government authorities.

According to U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, the security incident at the airport has been cleared. Normal functions have been reinstated, following a statement he made via a post on X.

The evacuation, triggered at approximately 11:15 a.m. local time, saw sections of the airport cleared as a precautionary measure, while airport police coordinated with the FBI for a thorough investigation.
