Delhi's economic performance is on an upward trajectory as the per capita income is poised to reach Rs 5,31,610 according to the Advance Estimate for 2025-26, marking a 7.92% growth. This figure is approximately 2.5 times the national level, as highlighted by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during the assembly session.

The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Delhi, at current prices for 2025-26, is anticipated to achieve a level of Rs 13,27,055 crore, signifying a 9.42% increase over the previous fiscal year. The report underlines that the Delhi government has budgeted Rs 1,00,000 crore for 2025-26, with a noteworthy allocation of Rs 59,300 crore for various government schemes and projects.

Despite a rise in fiscal deficit to Rs 13,703 crore, mainly due to a substantial increase in capital expenditure, Delhi maintains a steady revenue surplus. The report emphasizes the city's reliance on tax revenue, especially from GST and VAT, to fund its budget, while acknowledging the dominant role of the service sector in boosting the economy.
