Merlinhawk and Vega Collaborate to Strengthen India's Aerospace Manufacturing

Merlinhawk Composites inaugurates its advanced manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu's Defence Corridor, enhancing India's aerospace and defence capabilities. The venture aims to integrate international technology with India's growing manufacturing sector. Scheduled to open in April 2026, the facility will foster skill development and support global aerospace supply chains.

In a significant step towards bolstering India's aerospace and defence sector, Merlinhawk Composites and Engineering Pvt. Ltd., in partnership with Vega Composites of Italy, announced their new, advanced composites manufacturing facility in the Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor. The ceremonial pooja set the stage for the plant's planned commissioning in April 2026.

This state-of-the-art facility will focus on the production of advanced composite aerostructures and materials crucial for next-generation aerospace and defence applications. By strengthening domestic programmes and supporting international aerospace supply chains, the facility symbolizes an advancement in India's manufacturing capabilities, aligning with the national 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiatives.

According to R. Ramachandra Rao, Founder and MD of Merlinhawk Aerospace, the facility represents a globally competitive aerospace manufacturing hub by incorporating advanced technologies and specialized cleanroom environments. Commodore (Retd.) Bharat Bhushan Nagpal highlighted the critical role of advanced composites in future aerospace engineering, underscoring the project's potential to foster skill development and position India competitively on the global stage.
