SAIL's Remarkable Growth: A Record-Breaking Year in Steel Production

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), India's leading public sector steel company, has reported a significant 11.5% increase in sales, reaching 20.14 million tonnes for the fiscal year 2025-26. This growth reflects a rise across all product categories, as stated by the company on Thursday.
SAIL's crude steel output reached 19.43 million tonnes, with saleable steel production at 19.176 million tonnes. The company's operational efficiency contributed to a robust performance, reinforcing its drive for sustainable and competitive steel production.
The steel giant achieved a record supply of 1.25 million tonnes to Indian Railways and reached all-time high output of long rails from its Universal Rail Mill, aligning with India's rail expansion plans. Further underlining its success, SAIL's exports soared by 162%, expanding into new markets such as Bhutan.
