In a landmark surgical achievement, Kauvery Hospital in Chennai has successfully completed a high-risk brain operation on a 59-year-old female patient. The procedure involved the removal of a massive frontal tumor that claimed almost half of her brain, bringing hope and recovery to a woman who had been bedridden for years.

The patient, who entered Kauvery Hospital in a critical state, was discovered to have a large frontal brain tumor putting pressure on crucial areas of the brain. Despite the challenges posed by her frail state, a history of prior brain surgery, and tracheostomy dependence, the surgical team, led by Dr. Ranganathan Jothi, performed a bifrontal craniotomy and successfully removed the tumor.

Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj, Co-founder and Executive Director of Kauvery Group of Hospitals, emphasized that this surgery transcended the complexities of tumor removal. It highlighted the dedication and collaborative expertise necessary to achieve meaningful recovery in patients suffering long-term neurological disabilities. The patient's quick recovery post-procedure signifies a promising trajectory towards rehabilitation.
