The Indian government is broadening its support for exporters by expanding the list of destinations eligible under the RELIEF scheme, as a response to the ongoing West Asia crisis.

Launched with Rs 497-crore funding, the RELIEF scheme aims to assist exporters disrupted by the regional conflict. With the recent update, Egypt and Jordan have been included as eligible countries, marking a significant addition to the list of destinations permitted for shipping under the scheme.

In parallel efforts, the government is also introducing reforms to enhance the efficiency of Norms Committees under the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, to streamline the export process, reduce approval times, and foster greater transparency.
