Project Sangam: Revamping Traffic Flow at Indira Gandhi International Airport

Project Sangam, intensified by Delhi Traffic Police, aims to enhance traffic flow and road discipline around Indira Gandhi International Airport. Daily encroachment removal, e-challans, and collaboration with local authorities are key steps taken to address congestion and infrastructure issues, significantly improving vehicular movement and overall traffic management.

In a bid to streamline traffic around Indira Gandhi International Airport, the Delhi Traffic Police has ramped up enforcement efforts under Project Sangam. This initiative has notably enhanced road discipline and eased congestion in the nearby Mehram Nagar village.

A recent meeting at the IGI Airport Traffic Circle brought together senior traffic officers, local representatives, and stakeholders like market and resident welfare associations. Discussions revolved around resolving key issues, such as improper parking and unauthorized vendors.

Authorities are conducting encroachment removal drives daily and collaborating with the Delhi Cantonment Board on improving parking infrastructure. Meanwhile, between April 1 and April 16, the enforcement has resulted in over 600 e-challans and significant vehicle towing, backed by crucial support from Delhi International Airport Limited.
