The Commerce Ministry has announced updated RoDTEP schedules to correspond with new customs tariff structures, impacting 194 product lines. Notably, 142 new tariff lines have been added, and 50 have been removed. This revision facilitates seamless RoDTEP benefit implementation starting May 1, 2026, reducing ambiguity in classification.
The updated schedules aim to streamline the export process, promoting ease of business for exporters by aligning compliance frameworks. This move is expected to minimize system-level discrepancies and support the continuous remission of eligible duties and taxes on exported goods.
Additionally, a historic 70-year lease agreement has enabled the establishment of a Basmati and Organic Training Centre-cum-Demo Farm in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. This initiative, in collaboration with APEDA and the state government, will train farmers in organic practices, serving as a key resource hub for agriculture experts and students.
