Delhi's Metro Expansion: A 97 km Leap Forward

In a significant boost to Delhi's infrastructure, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the expansion of the Metro network by 97 km, underscoring an ambitious project set to transform connectivity across the capital.

Speaking at the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's 32nd Foundation Day, Gupta detailed the construction of seven new corridors encompassing 65 stations, with an estimated budget of Rs 48,204.56 crore. This expansion under Metro Phase-V (B) is designed to link the developing outskirts with the city's core, catering to Delhi's growing urban sprawl.

She outlined initiatives such as four priority corridors targeted for completion by 2029, including routes from Dhansa to Nangloi, Central Secretariat to Kishangarh, and extensions from Samaypur Badli and Kirti Nagar, among others. The venture promises enhanced connectivity, exchange nodes, and multiple interchange facilities, marking a transformative era in Delhi's public transport system.
