In an urgent rescue operation, a mentally challenged man traveling atop a Central Railway's AC local train was safely brought down at Kalyan station in Thane. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when the 25-year-old was seen on the roof of a Badlapur-Dadar train.
Railway officials halted the train at platform 7 and swiftly turned off the Overhead Equipment power supply to prevent any risk of electrocution. The coordinated efforts of railway staff and Government Railway Police led to the man's safe removal. Identified as Malka Fidre, the individual was subsequently handed over to authorities.
The entire procedure, executed in just 12 minutes, temporarily disrupted train services but ensured the man's safety without any additional dangers. The train resumed its journey shortly after a thorough safety check, illustrating the efficiency and preparedness of the railway team.
