Driven by corporate demand for cost-effective, agile setups, the flexible workspace sector is projected to grow by 16-18% over two fiscal years, with significant expansion into Tier-II cities.
The flexible workspace sector in India is poised for a significant growth spurt, with top co-working operators planning investments of Rs 4,000-4,500 crore by 2026-27. According to Crisil Ratings, these investments target an expansion in managed office spaces across the nation.
Crisil's analysis reveals a growing preference among corporates for flexible workspaces due to their cost-effectiveness and agility. The sector's capacity is anticipated to surge by 16-18% to reach 140-145 million square feet over the next two years, a substantial rise from the current 100-105 million square feet.
Industry experts, including James Thomas of SpazeOne and Hanto Workspace's Aashit Verma, emphasize the strategic importance of these spaces in India's business environment. They note that flexible workspaces are evolving into critical infrastructure, offering businesses much-needed flexibility, speed, and cost control.
