Malayalam Cinema Mourns the Loss of Versatile Actor Santhosh K Nayar
Renowned Malayalam actor Santhosh K Nayar, famous for his role in 'Irupatham Noottandu', died in a tragic road accident at 65. While traveling near Pathanamthitta district, his vehicle collided with a van, resulting in his death. Fellow actor Mohanlal and others have expressed their condolences.
Malayalam actor Santhosh K Nayar, recognized for his memorable performance in 'Irupatham Noottandu', passed away on Tuesday following a fatal road accident. The incident occurred near Enathu in Pathanamthitta district when his car collided with a parcel van, leaving him critically injured. Despite being rushed to Lifeline Hospital, he was pronounced dead during treatment.
Preliminary reports indicate that Santhosh experienced a heart attack upon hospital admission. His riding companion, Rajalakshmi, along with the parcel van driver Sudheesh, sustained injuries and are receiving medical care. Iconic actor Mohanlal shared his grief, describing Santhosh as a dear friend and a 'kind-hearted' individual in a social media tribute.
Santhosh's illustrious career spanned over 100 films and TV serials starting from his 1982 debut in 'Ithu Njangalude Kadha'. Notably, his portrayal of an antagonist in 'Ivide Thudangunnu' was critically acclaimed, establishing him as a versatile actor. Although less active post-2014, he returned to the big screen recently with the successful release of 'Mohiniyattam'.
