Boosting Rail Connectivity: New Lines Approved to Enhance Tourism & Logistics

The Indian government has approved the construction of additional rail lines between Nagda and Mathura. These projects aim to enhance connectivity, boost tourism, and improve logistics efficiency, impacting major tourist spots and supporting economic growth across six Indian states.

The Indian government's recent approval of additional rail lines between Nagda and Mathura promises significant benefits for the tourism and logistics sectors. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the helm, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) sanctioned these projects, which hold a combined value of approximately Rs 23,437 crore, as part of the Railway Ministry's expansive plans.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav warmly welcomed this decision, emphasizing the anticipated socio-economic improvements. Key tourist hubs, including Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar Temple and Kuno National Park, are among the various attractions poised to gain enhanced rail access. Furthermore, these developments are poised to invigorate local economies, fulfilling the objectives of the 'PM Gati Shakti' initiative aimed at augmenting the nation's infrastructure capabilities.

The completion of these multi-tracking projects across 19 districts in six states, namely Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, will accelerate train speeds, alleviate congestion, and permit the transit of an extra 60 million tons of freight annually. In turn, approximately 83 lakh residents stand to benefit, setting a robust foundation for sustained economic progress.
