The latest Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) reveals an 8% growth in unincorporated enterprises across India, reaching 7.92 crore in 2025, alongside the creation of 74.52 lakh jobs. These findings underscore the sector's vital role in generating employment and supporting the economy.

According to the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, the 'Other Services' category led growth at 10.29%, outperforming both manufacturing and trade. Additionally, the Gross Value Added (GVA) rose by 10.87% with the trade sector spearheading this increase. Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Maharashtra registered the highest number of establishments.

The survey highlights notable female workforce involvement, with nearly 22% engaged in manufacturing. Female proprietors now lead over 60% of manufacturing establishments, showcasing the sector's role in women's empowerment. Although only a slight increase was observed in business registrations, it suggests a steady positive trend.
