The iconic JCT textile mill in Punjab is on the brink of a major revival that promises to invigorate economic activity in the Doaba region, according to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The reopening will restore the mill's former glory and is expected to spur industrial development.
In a bid to safeguard workers' rights, prior conditions for the restart include settling all pending salaries and dues. Mann announced a revival plan for the JCT football team, aiming to reposition Punjab on the international football map.
Mann also addressed other pressing state issues, including settling sugarcane farmers' dues and warned against the divisive tactics of certain political parties. Plans to commemorate major Sikh heritage events were also unveiled, highlighting ongoing efforts to foster inclusivity.
