Royal Enfield Rides into Andhra Pradesh with Major Investment
Royal Enfield plans a significant Rs 2,200 crore investment to build a manufacturing facility and vendor park in Tirupati. This marks its first major expansion outside Tamil Nadu, aiming to bolster Andhra Pradesh's automotive sector and create 5,000 jobs, enhancing India's global motorcycle manufacturing capabilities.
Royal Enfield, owned by Eicher Motors, is set to make a significant investment of Rs 2,200 crore in a new manufacturing facility and vendor park at Satyavedu in the Tirupati district. This expansion, approved by the State Investment Promotion Board and led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, signifies a considerable step outside Tamil Nadu for the company.
The project aims to augment Andhra Pradesh's automobile manufacturing landscape, creating around 5,000 employment opportunities, both directly and indirectly. According to an official press release, this strategic decision reflects the state's sturdy industrial network, supporting infrastructure, and favorable policies towards investors.
Spread over the villages of Vanelluru and Rallakuppam, near the Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu border, the facility is expected to boost Royal Enfield's output by nearly nine lakh units. This initiative marks a substantial push towards making India a global hub for premium motorcycle production, with plans for completion spanning over two phases by 2032.
