Carrier to Boost Andhra Pradesh's Manufacturing: New Facility Launched

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced on Wednesday that Carrier, a prominent air-conditioner manufacturer, has initiated its advanced chiller manufacturing facility in Sri City. This significant development is part of Carrier Global's Rs 863-1,000 crore investment in the state, aiming to bolster the local manufacturing ecosystem and create substantial employment.
Earlier, Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh laid the foundation stone for the facility located in the Tirupati district. The new facility is set to produce high-capacity commercial Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) chillers in India, to include 15 advanced testing and R&D laboratories.
This initiative is expected to firm Andhra Pradesh's stance in industrial cooling systems and enhance its role in supporting the flourishing AI economy. The chief minister emphasized that this reflects a strategic pivot towards capability-led growth, positioning the state as a burgeoning hub for advanced engineering and high-value manufacturing.
