Unlocking Global Investments: India's Infrastructure Boom

International investors are eyeing India's infrastructure for investment opportunities, seeking governance rights and hedging options against currency risks. The National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) is collaborating with regulators to align investor needs. NIIF CEO Sanjiv Aggarwal highlighted strong overseas interest during the CII Annual Business Summit.

International investors are keen to explore co-investment opportunities in India’s burgeoning infrastructure sector, particularly with the potential for specific governance rights, a senior official disclosed on Monday.

The National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) collaborates with regulators to harmonize requirements with those of global investors, according to Sanjiv Aggarwal, NIIF's Managing Director and CEO.

Aggarwal also noted that foreign investors budget for annual rupee depreciation, underscoring the attractiveness of India’s infrastructure. These investors are now seeking products to hedge dollar-rupee risks, a point emphasized at the CII Annual Business Summit.
