Maruti Suzuki Expands Production with New Kharkhoda Plant
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has commenced commercial production at its second plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana, increasing the total capacity to 5 lakh units annually. This boosts the company's overall production capability across its Indian facilities to 26.5 lakh units, with plans for further expansion by FY 2026-27.
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has initiated commercial production at the second section of its Kharkhoda facility in Haryana. This new plant boasts an annual production capacity of 2.5 lakh units, elevating the total production potential at Kharkhoda to 5 lakh vehicles per year, as per an official statement from the company.
The augmentation of capacity enhances Maruti Suzuki's cumulative production capability across its sites in Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda, and Hansalpur to 26.5 lakh units annually. Once fully operational, the Kharkhoda site will rank among Suzuki's largest manufacturing bases globally, producing up to 10 lakh vehicles yearly.
Earlier, the company had stated its intention to expand its capacity by 5 lakh units in the fiscal year 2026-27. Currently, the facility produces the compact SUV Brezza and the mid-size SUV Victoris.
