Waltair Division's Eco-Friendly Push: E-Bicycle Revolution

The Waltair Division of East Coast Railway has initiated an e-bicycle campaign to promote green mobility, foster environment awareness, and reduce fuel reliance. Inaugurated by Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra, the campaign includes eco-friendly transport, awareness programs, and workshops on sustainable practices.

The East Coast Railway's Waltair Division has responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for environmentally cautious spending by launching an e-bicycle campaign aimed at promoting green mobility and raising environmental awareness.

Under the stewardship of Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra, these e-bicycles, which were donated by a private college, herald what Bohra termed as a 'new revolution' in sustainable transport solutions.

The initiative includes various programs using the e-bicycles, to educate railway employees, passengers, and the public. The bicycles can travel up to 30 kilometers per charge, requiring neither a driving license nor vehicle registration, making them ideal for students and health enthusiasts. The campaign will also see workshops on climate action and sustainable practices.
