Mukesh Ambani Continues to Forgo Salary for Sixth Consecutive Year at Reliance

Mukesh Ambani, one of Asia's wealthiest individuals, has chosen not to take a salary from Reliance Industries for the sixth consecutive year. This decision aligns with his ongoing strategy to prioritize the company's recovery and growth following the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision to forego a salary, which began in June 2020, reflects a response to the pandemic's widespread impact. Reliance Industries has, however, reported a record consolidated net profit of Rs 95,754 crore for FY 2025-26. Despite not drawing a salary, Ambani's dividend income, derived from his substantial shareholding, continues to serve as his primary earnings source.

In contrast to Ambani's magnanimity, the remuneration for other senior executives at Reliance remains stable or has seen minor increases. This includes family members and other key figures within the enterprise, who continue to earn through various compensation structures. Ambani's distinctive stance serves as an example within a global corporate context often criticized for excessive executive pay.
