Hyundai Motor India Ltd announced a temporary halt in production following a fire at a supplier's facility in Tamil Nadu. The incident occurred at Mobis India Ltd's site in Kancheepuram, which handles audio and automotive parts essential to Hyundai's production.
No casualties have been reported from the fire, which took place on May 31, 2026, and efforts are underway to assess the damage. Hyundai assured that vehicle deliveries to customers would remain unaffected, as they seek alternative sourcing solutions to minimize production impacts. The company emphasized there is enough inventory within its dealer network to meet current customer demands.
