Germany says its focus is on implementing EU-US trade deal
The German government expressed confidence that existing agreements with the US would be honoured, despite proposed new tariffs over concerns about forced labour in EU imports.
A German government spokesperson said on Wednesday that Berlin's focus was on implementing the existing EU-U.S. trade agreement, expressing confidence that agreements would be honoured.
The spokesperson was responding to questions during a press conference about the U.S. administration's proposed new tariffs of 10% on imports from the EU and other economies because they failed to curb trade in goods made with forced labour.
