India's Industrial Leap: Piyush Goyal Unveils Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna Portal

Union Minister Piyush Goyal launched the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna portal, transitioning from land struggles to a modern industrial era with single-window access. Featuring Google Maps integration, the portal aims to streamline site selection for industries. The government's $4 billion scheme targets rapid industrial park development and enhanced infrastructure.

In a move poised to revolutionize India's industrial landscape, Union Minister Piyush Goyal has inaugurated the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna portal, symbolizing a departure from the land allocation hurdles of the past to a more efficient, plug-and-play era. Drawing from his own experiences in the 1980s dealing with complex land processes, Goyal noted that the new platform offers a transparent, single-window solution, easing the path for young entrepreneurs and foreign investors.

The newly launched portal will seamlessly integrate with Google Maps and satellite imagery, enabling prospective investors to evaluate connectivity, plot dimensions, and surrounding facilities prior to application. Goyal proposed a novel idea to offer premium rates for plots sans polluting neighbors, thereby affording industries greater control over their operational environments. With a financial commitment of Rs 34,000 crore earmarked for 100 industrial parks, the initiative promises to bolster investments, generate jobs, and enhance social infrastructure.

The phased rollout promises efficiency, with the first phase prioritizing applications for 20 parks by July end and an additional 30 by September. A prerequisite for states is the formation of Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) before application. The initiative extends a unique approach to MSMEs, permitting flexible factory designs and encouraging private management of essential services. Goyal emphasized the participatory nature of the scheme, with states vying for business through competitive offers, aligning with the broader vision of positioning India as a formidable industrial force by 2047.
