An oil tanker named Marivex, flying the Madagascar flag, experienced a fire incident off Oman's coast while harboring 24 Indian sailors on board. Fortunately, all crew members are confirmed safe.

Opesh Kumar Sharma, a director at India's federal port and shipping ministry, revealed during a press meeting that the vessel was not loaded with any cargo at the time of the blaze. He affirmed the collaborative efforts with the Ministry of External Affairs, Indian missions overseas, the Indian Navy, and the Ministry of Defence to secure the sailors' wellbeing.

The fire, which erupted at 1.30 PM local time, remains under investigation as its cause is yet to be determined. Indian representatives are working closely with Omani officials to facilitate the crew's rescue and security, according to a statement from the Indian embassy on X.
