In a significant development, Assam has been acknowledged as the fastest-growing state in India by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed optimism, stating that Assam and the Northeast region are on track to become a national hub for investors by 2030.

Speaking at a press conference after a meeting with a European delegation held in the state's capital, CM Sarma revealed that Assam has outpaced national growth benchmarks. 'While India is growing at 29 percent, Assam is witnessing a remarkable 45 percent growth rate. This momentum paves the way for lucrative investment opportunities,' he stated.

Reflecting on recent achievements, Sarma projected an accelerated growth trajectory over the next five years. The Chief Minister emphasized that Assam's unique offerings, including its status as home to the one-horned rhinoceros, will render it a sought-after investment destination. The meeting with the European Union delegation, led by EU Ambassador to India Herve Delphin, was part of a broader initiative to enhance trade relations and explore investment avenues, strengthening ties between European markets and Northeast India.
