Chile's finance ministry has unveiled an optimistic forecast for the country’s GDP growth, predicting it will rise by 3% annually in 2027 and 2028, eventually reaching 3.5% in 2030. This announcement was made public during a ministry presentation on Wednesday.

The ministry also outlined a projection for Chile's average copper price, estimating it to be $5.50 per pound from 2026 to 2030. This revision comes alongside the finance ministry's first-quarter Public Finances Report, dated May 25, which projected GDP growth of 2.2% for 2027, 2028, and 2029, with a slight increase to 2.3% by 2030.

In May, officials anticipated lower average copper prices of $5.06 per pound for 2027, with a further reduction to $5.04 from 2028 through 2030, reflecting more cautious market expectations at the time.
