Maharashtra government has partnered with conversational artificial intelligence (AI) platform Haptik to develop a chatbot for providing information regarding 1,400 public services. With the launch of the Aaple Sarkar chatbot, the state government hopes to provide a complete range of services to the people in a more efficient manner.
"The Aaple Sarkar Chatbot is another positive step to provide solutions to the queries of the public through conversations. With the help of AI, this conversational facility is definitely going to significantly improve the public service frameworks," Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said. There are also plans to add support for Marathi and Hindi in this chatbot, he added.
In Maharashtra, there is a dedicated portal Aaple Sarkar through which more than 400 online services are being provided. "The right to services (RTS) chatbot comprises a range of algorithms that give it the ability to process a large number of queries every day, analysing each conversation, maintaining records and providing the user with the most useful information," Haptik chief executive officer Aakrit Vaish said.
