Uber's extravagant pricing during Mumbai rains comparable to flights, say Twiiteraties

Ride-hailing service Uber's surge pricing has led it to another controversy. The prices of Uber cabs during Mumbai rains were so exorbitant that people started comparing it to prices of flights. And in some cases, a flight to Goa would have been cheaper than getting an Uber to go around Mumbai.
Heavy rains have been lashing Mumbai from the last few days and many parts of the city are water-logged, crippling traffic movement in the city. And due to this, the demand for cabs skyrocketed as people didn't want to take their own cars out and some means of public transport were also crippled, making cabs the last resort for many.
Here is the case where a one-way ticket to Goa would make more sense than going from CST Station to Thane West in an Uber in Mumbai.
