Mustard seed prices fell by Rs 11 to Rs 3,922 per quintal in futures trade Tuesday after participants off-loaded their positions to book profits. Market analysts attributed the fall in mustard seed prices to off-loading of bets by operators triggered by a weak trend on ample stocks.
On the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustard seed for August contracts eased by Rs 11, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 3,922 per quintal with an open interest of 66,800 lots. Mustard seed for delivery in September contracts also shed Rs 10, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 3,939 per quintal with an open interest of 28,960 lots.
