Hong Kong stocks made their highest 2-month jump on Monday boosted by positive sentiment in Chinese markets Beijing's grand reform plan for Shenzhen and progress on the trade talks. US President Donald Trump recently signaled progress over trade negotiations with China. The key Hang Seng index jumped 2.17 percent.

The People's Bank of China's interest rate reforms, which it is said would help steer borrowing costs lower for companies and support a slowing economy, helped stocks in Shanghai rise 2.1 percent and the positive sentiment passed on to Hong Kong markets as well.

Hong Kong stocks have been constantly falling over the past few weeks after the semi-autonomous region was choked by massive protests over increasing Chinese influence in the region.
