Followers of late spiritual leader Osho Rajneesh who have been protesting against `reported' plans to sell land of Osho Ashram here said that the Ashram management on Tuesday allowed those wearing the `sanyas mala' to enter.

The authorities at the OSHO International Foundation (OIF), however, said they were allowed only in view of law and order situation.

A group of disciples of Osho Rajneesh is at loggerheads with the OIF management over the wearing of the 'mala' inside the Ashram. ''The Ashram management today allowed the Osho disciples to enter wearing the sanyas mala.... Around 2,500 disciples from all over the globe gathered at the Osho Ashram entrance to mark the 70th enlightenment day of Osho,'' claimed a release. ''The management is reportedly trying to sell the Ashram land to private parties,'' it said. Maa Amrit Sadhana, spokesperson and one of the trustees of OIF, said the entry was allowed in view of maintaining the law and order. ''Since there were 800 people outside, the police intervened and requested the management to allow the entry to them while wearing malas. To respect the law and order and to support the police, the management allowed them on the premises with 'malas' only for today,'' she said, adding that from tomorrow, the usual rules will apply.

The OIF management also claimed that Rajneesh had dropped the mala ''long before leaving the body.''
